Sometimes things go sideways faster than you can process what’s happening. Sometimes the rocks win. Alex had a pretty bad crash that day.
It’d been a while since I’d ridden with my local trials biking crew due to people’s schedules (including mine) and the Bentonville Bike Fest. What a blast!
Prior to the North American Trials Championship competition at the 2023 Bentonville Bike Fest, several of us went downtown for a bike trials group ride.
When the trials biking gang gets together, fun ensues! I was out with an injury when this was filmed in summer 2022, but was still busy making trials videos.
While not obvious, Mike and I both felt stiff and sore. I spent forever working on some lines. For a struggle though, our riding was better than I expected.
Mike Steidley and I spent several hours riding the rocks along the Narragansett coast. My competition trials bike is still broken, so I rode my Inspired Arcade.
The rain started just as we began riding, making the wooden features of the trials park wet and slippery. And a load of cops showed up!
It was a gorgeous afternoon. There were lots of lines and obstacles to ride. Everything was going well, until… it wasn’t.
Mike and I rode our trials bikes all over the rocky Narragansett shoreline ledge. Even though only two of us showed up, I’ll still consider it a group.
