Position Objective

The objective of this position is to discover all North American trials events and ensure that they are listed in our events calendar. Events can include competitions, trials shows, bike festivals that include trials, meet-ups, and any other applicable categories. Eventually we would like to add events from all around the globe. Ideally, our events calendar will become the “one-stop shop” for all trials events – for event organizers, competitors, and the interested public.

Responsibilities & Duties

The primary responsibilities and duties in this role include (not limited to):

  • Join trials-related discussion forums, Facebook groups, and other online communities that do (or might) contain announcements about trials events
  • Use a variety of means to identify North American trials events, including (but not limited to) searching online and participating in trials forums and social media groups – proactively!
  • Obtain sufficient information to generate the events in the event calendar (i.e., event description, event date/time, event host name/contact info, event location details, event website, photos/graphics, etc.); contact event coordinators to obtain additional information as required
  • Create the events in the events calendar
  • Send published event links to event coordinators
  • Share event calendar links on social media (as applicable)
  • Maintain the event calendar
  • Reach out to potential event hosts to promote our (free!) service

We expect to transition to a global trials calendar in the future, which would increase the number of events.

Impact of This Role

We believe that the event calendar is a critical pillar of our content strategy. The work you will do in this position will positively impact trials event organizers, trials riders, the interested public, and our brand.

Event organizers – Promoting events is hard work! The trials community is relatively small, so providing a channel to get the word out helps event organizers. As we build our reputation, we expect to have a larger impact on event organizers who will rely on us to host their event details.

Trials riders – Having a single trials events calendar allows riders to easily see at a glance what competitions or other events are coming up all over the continent. It can also help riders in planning their travel to different events.

Public – By providing a single location listing trials events, the interested public is more likely to find local trials events. Trials enthusiasts can easily share the link to the event calendar.

Our brand – By proactively searching for events and curating the calendar, you will provide a valuable service to the entire trials community. Helping event organizers spread the word generates goodwill. Providing the most comprehensive source of up-to-date information about trials events builds trust in our ability to serve the trials community.
